Humbleness
I am sure many thoughts come to the mind when you read this title. Some of those thoughts may even be correct and this may just be God confirming what He has already spoken to you. For some of you this may be the first time God is showing you what true humbleness is.
Many think to be humble is to look down all the time when you walk and talk. Or to not take any compliments, but that’s more of a sign of insecurity; having no sense of self worth. Humbleness is a heart posture not an exterior posture. Humbleness drives us to want to obey God. It allows us to be molded and shaped by the almighty. Humbleness will always keep us in His favor and forgiveness. It is with a humble heart we can hear God speaking to us as He reveals the areas in our lives that need to be changed. It is in our humbleness were repentance is found, resulting in complete surrender and submission to His ways. Without humbleness no one will ever come to repentance. Without humbleness no one’s heart will be ready to receive the word. Without humbleness we will never step out in faith. Without humbleness we will not serve others as Jesus did, or show them the same grace and mercy He showed us. Serving others is one of the most rewarding acts of humbleness and forms of witnessing there is. Humbleness admits when one is wrong, puts others before themselves and is compassionate. Humbleness is not passive or naïve but wise and discerning. Humbleness acknowledges that “I am second and God is 1st above all “.
Luke 14:11 shows us it is better to be humble than to be humbled. God will exalt us but if we exalt ourselves He will humble us. When we serve others we in turn are serving God. He says in Matthew 25:40-45 when we do this to the least of these we did it unto Him. This works both ways, when we serve others we do it unto God but when we do not serve others we also do that unto God.
Brothers and sisters humbleness… don’t just wear it on your sleeve sort of speak, but allow your heart to be transformed to the potter’s hand. You are loved.

Estoy seguro de que muchos pensamientos vienen a la mente cuando lees este título. Algunos de esos pensamientos pueden ser correctos y quizás esto puede ser solo Dios confirmando lo que ya te ha dicho. Para algunos de ustedes, esta puede ser la primera vez que Dios les muestra lo que es la verdadera humildad.
Muchos piensan que ser humilde es mirar hacia abajo todo el tiempo cuando caminas y hablas. O no aceptar ningún cumplido, pero eso es más una señal de inseguridad; sin sentido de autoestima. La humildad es una postura del corazón, no una postura exterior. La humildad nos impulsa a querer obedecer a Dios. Nos permite ser moldeados y formados por Él todopoderoso. La humildad siempre nos mantendrá en Su favor y perdón. Es con un corazón humilde que podemos escuchar a Dios hablándonos mientras revela las áreas de nuestra vida que necesitan ser cambiadas. Es en nuestra humildad donde se encuentra el arrepentimiento, lo que resulta en una completa rendición y sumisión a Sus caminos. Sin humildad nadie llegará jamás al arrepentimiento. Sin humildad, el corazón de nadie estará listo para recibir la palabra. Sin humildad nunca daremos un paso de fe. Sin humildad no serviremos a los demás como lo hizo Jesús, ni les mostraremos la misma gracia y misericordia que Él nos mostró a nosotros. Servir a los demás es uno de los actos de humildad y de testimonio más gratificantes que existen. La humildad admite cuando uno se equivoca, antepone a los demás a sí mismo y es compasivo. La humildad no es pasiva ni ingenua, sino sabia y perspicaz. La humildad reconoce que “yo soy el segundo y Dios es el primero sobre todos”.
Lucas 14:11 nos muestra que es mejor ser humilde que ser humillado. Dios nos exaltará pero si nos exaltamos a nosotros mismos nos humillará. Cuando servimos a los demás, a su vez estamos sirviendo a Dios. Él dice en Mateo 25:40-45 cuando hacemos esto al más pequeño de estos, lo hicimos a Él. Esto funciona en ambos sentidos, cuando servimos a otros, lo hacemos para Dios, pero cuando no servimos a otros, también lo hacemos para Dios.
Hermanos y hermanas, la humildad… no se la pongan simplemente en la manga, digamos, sino permitan que su corazón se transforme en la mano del alfarero. Eres amado.
